as genus (Fischer 1972, 1987); as subgenus of Opius (Wharton 1988).
Fischer (1987) says that the genus was first described in 1965 (Rev Zool Bot Afr 71:310), but I can’t find this one and in any case, he says the type was subsequently described and designated in 1966, so the 1965 pub must represent a nomen nudum or at least invalid until a species was included
